“I can’t help him”: Rudiger reveals why he can’t help Kai Havertz

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger played a key role in Chelsea signing Timo Werner and Kai Havertz last summer.

The centre-back earned the title Agent Rudi after helping Chelsea sign two key transfer targets Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

The duo have struggled to bring their Bundesliga form to Chelsea, especially Kai Havertz who cost the club £70m.

Speaking to Christian Falk of Bild recently, Rudiger revealed that he advised both players to move to Stamford Bridge and is doing all he can to help them settle at the club and succeed, but he also admitted that there’s nothing more he can do to help them succeed on the pitch.

Rudiger said according to Falk: “I helped them and advised them to come to @ChelseaFC.

“That’s why I’m always by their side. On the pitch, they can only help themselves.”

Rudiger has now revealed that he’s in “contact” with David Alaba amid interest from Chelsea in signing the Bayern Munich defender.

Rudiger also revealed he will happily give Chelsea information on Bayern Munich defenders Jerome Boateng and Niklas Sule, who are his teammates in the German national team.

“If Chelsea were to decide on one of the three players as a transfer target, I would be available to answer any questions,” he told Bild.

“I know Jerome & Niklas very well and I’ve already had contact with David Alaba.”
