‘I’m so done with him’ ‘He needs to go’ Fans criticize Chelsea midfielder after below par display against Atletico

Chelsea put in a great performance to secure a 1-0 victory against Atletico Madrid yesterday evening but one player that did struggle was Jorginho.

The Italian misplaced ten passes on the night and picked up a booking which meant he will miss the second leg. Some supporters on Twitter were not happy with his display:

It is slightly harsh to single out Jorginho for his passing as he still had 90% accuracy on the night, but he did make some uncharacteristic mistakes when in possession.

Combined with the fact that he doesn’t generally offer much in terms of goals or assists and it doesn’t take much for some fans to turn against him, especially when there is a young talent like Billy Gilmour waiting in the wings to take his place.

It’s likely that N’Golo Kante will come in for the return leg next month. The Frenchman was left out of the starting eleven last night and he would have felt hard done by after performing well against Southampton at the weekend.
