In-demand ‘top midfielder’ opens up to make Chelsea move in January

West Ham United defensive midfielder Declan Rice is reportedly keen on to make transfer to Chelsea in January.

With the West London club not willing to stump up the Hammers asking price of £80m for the England international in the summer, Rice stayed at the London Stadium despite strong interest from Frank Lampard’s side.

However, the 21-year-old midfielder has seen his long-term future called into question again in recent weeks, with the Red Devils head-coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believed to be an admirer of his talent.

However, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, player himself is indeed keen on a move across the capital to link up with his former team where he has started his football career.

However, Romano also states that the Blues will likely struggle to prise the Englishman away from the London Stadium in the Winter transfer window, with Rice not trying to force an exit given his respect for West Ham.

Rice has played every minute of Premier League football this season for David Moyes’s side and has shown that he is a real leader of the team. he is under contract until 2024 at West Ham United.
