Lampard makes transfer decision on Angel Gomes move to Chelsea

Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for the 19 year old attacker and various reports have claimed the youngster is heading to Stamford Bridge.

However, The 19-year-old Manchester United attacker Angel Gomes is out-of-contract today after failing to agree a renewal with Manchester United.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has shot down talk of Gomes moving to Stamford Bridge.

“I can elaborate to the point that it’s never been mentioned at my end,” said Lampard when asked about Gomes’ availability in his pre-match press conference for the match at West Ham, which takes place on Wednesday.

Gomes reportedly rejected United’s offer of around £25,000 a week, and Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted on Monday that the 19 year old will leave Manchester United on Tuesday night.

Solskjaer said: “To be honest, I’ve not heard from them last night or this morning so it seems like they haven’t managed to agree.

“The answer is probably short and ‘yes’. I’ve got no news. Nothing. It doesn’t look like it.”
