Lampard OFFICIALLY gets sack, German flying in to complete Chelsea move, Blues contact £55 million defender about move and Tomori makes big Maldini claim

Frank Lampard has been sacked by Chelsea after just 18 months as head coach

Lampard was brought to the club just last year and enjoyed a first good season with the Blues, leading the club to an FA Cup final and qualification to the Champions League, which brought alot of excitement around the club.

But despite the fact that he had over £200 million in the transfer window to bring in new players, Chelsea have fallen well behind Manchester City and Manchester United in the chase to win that Premier League title.

Lampard took the side on a 17-game unbeaten run but away defeats to Everton, Wolves, Arsenal and Leicester and a 3-1 home defeat to Manchester City have cost him his job, and In a statement, Abramovich said: “This was a very difficult decision for the club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him.

“He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances we believe it is best to change managers.

“On behalf of everyone at the club, the board and personally, I would like to thank Frank for his work as head coach and wish him every success in the future. He is an important icon of this great club and his status here remains undiminished. He will always be warmly welcomed back at Stamford Bridge.”

Reports have suggested that Thomas Tuchel is now flying to Chelsea after the Blues sacked Frank Lampard.

Despite the fact that he had over £200 million in the transfer window to bring in new players, Chelsea have fallen well behind Manchester City and Manchester United in the chase to win that Premier League title.

Lampard took the side on a 17-game unbeaten run but away defeats to Everton, Wolves, Arsenal and Leicester and a 3-1 home defeat to Manchester City have cost him his job, and now the Blues are looking to bring in a new boss.

And it seems that Chelsea fans will be welcoming former PSG boss Thomas Tuchel in the next couple of days, with reports suggesting that he is now flying over to London to discuss a move to Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel won the DFB-Pokal in 2017 with Dortmund before a brief but trophy-laden spell in Paris which saw him win two Ligue 1 titles and a French Cup, as well as reaching the final of last season’s Champions League, which they lost to Bayern Munich.

Look, Lampard needed to get the sack, This Chelsea squad is one of the very best in the Premier League and should be challenging for all the major titles, so the fact that he has lost so many games already this season, it was about time.

Manchester United have received a blow in their pursuit of RB Leipzig ace Dayot Upamecano as Chelsea have reportedly contacted him about a transfer.

United were said to be front-runners to land the 22-year-old for £55million this month as there has been alot of rumours that he is the man that they see can come in and be the perfect partner for Harry Maguire.

But they could now be pipped by the Blues to the post, according to German outlet Kicker, as they have now claimed that Chelsea have already made contact with the German outfit about a possible deal to bring Upamecano to London, and Stamford Bridge

Frank Lampard may have just got the sack, but incoming boss Thomas Tuchel is a man that knows what players he wants, and reports have suggested that he has asked Chelsea to try and wrap up a deal for the talented £55 million rated defender

TalkSPORT’s transfer expert Alex Crook recently claimed that there is definite interest from Chelsea: “We’ve talked about this guy a lot over the course of the last year or so, he’s a really highly-rated defender.

“He plays for RB Leipzig, he helped them do great things in the Champions League last season.

“Manchester United have watched him, Liverpool have watched him, Arsenal have been linked in the past.

“Now we’re hearing Chelsea are showing a definite interest, along with Bayern Munich. I don’t know if this is a deal that can necessarily happen this month because he’s got a release clause of of €42million that kicks into gear in the summer.

“But if those clubs I’ve mentioned are going to go toe-to-toe, this could be a really fascinating saga to watch and see exactly which club he picks. He’s a top player.”

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has revealed how a conversation with legendary defender Paolo Maldini convinced him to join AC Milan.

Tomori was one of the most talented young defenders at Chelsea, but has not had a look in at the Bridge this season, as Frank Lampard preferred to play Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma at the back.

That opened the door for the talented young man to pack his bags and make the move to AC Milan, where he will spend the next few months trying to earn himself a permanent move to the Seria A giants, who are currently leading the Italian League.

Maldini, who is the technical director at the Italian side, played more than 900 times for the European giant before retiring and joining the backroom staff, and Tomori has revealed how a conversation with legendary defender helped him decide to make the move to Italy

Tomori told the club’s website: “When I first got the call, I was a bit… I wouldn’t say confused, but I was surprised! I spoke to Paolo Maldini.

“The best defender to ever play football was talking to me and asking me to come, so from there I knew that this is where I wanted to come and play football and to learn from him as well. I’m very happy to be here now.

“Paolo Maldini, the best defender that ever played! When I was young and I was [playing as] a striker or a midfielder, Kaka was someone that I really enjoyed watching, [Clarence] Seedorf as well.

“To be able to put on the shirt that they wore is a huge honour and if I have half the success that they had, I’ll have a good time here.”

This is a massive move for the lad and he could learn alot from Maldini, who is considered one of the greatest defenders to even grace the game
