Late Chelsea deal ANNOUNCED, Abramovich promise Tuchel €180m world-class superstar deal will be done, Blues complete deadline deal..in Chelsea247 roundup news

Blues outcast Baba Rahman has joined Greek side PAOK on loan until the end of the season.

Rahman signed for Chelsea in a £23 million ($31m) move from Augsburg in 2015, and he appeared to be spearheading a major revamp of the Blues’ defensive line-up as there was much hope that he could go on to become a top defender in the game

However, he failed to make the kind of impact at the club that many at Chelsea had hoped for, and over the last few seasons, he has been shifted out on-loan on numerous occasions, while also starring for the under-23 side.

But as his future at the club looks, bleak, he will not spend the next few months at PAOK after agreeing a loan move to the Green side until the end of the season

A statement read: “Baba Rahman has today moved on loan to Greek side PAOK for the remainder of the campaign.”

It continued: “His new loan club PAOK are known to Chelsea supporters for our games against them in the Europa League in 2018.”

Confirmed: Chelsea complete first deadline day deal

According to latest reports at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have concluded their first piece of deadline day business with defender Jack Wakely moving to Brighton and Hove Albion on loan for the remainder of the season.

Wakely joined the Blues as an Under-9 and has progressed through the academy system, winning the FA Youth Cup, Premier Academy League and Under-18 Premier League Cup during the 2017/18 campaign.

Last term, the centre-back played 18 times for the Under-23s and helped the side clinch the Premier League 2 title on points per game under Andy Myers.

Wakely will link up with Brighton’s Under-23s and the club’s head of academy, John Morling, is pleased with the arrival of the 20-year-old.

“We wanted to bring an extra option at the centre of defence, and we are delighted Jack has agreed to join until the end of the season,” he told Brighton’s website.

“He will give us that additional competition in that area of the pitch, and over the coming months we can work with Jack and get to know him.”

The loan will be Wakely’s second away from Chelsea; the defender made 15 appearances in the Southern League with Basingstoke Town during the 2018/19 campaign.

The winter transfer window closes tonight at 11pm and Chelsea aren’t expected to be busy throughout the rest of the day.

Frank Lampard’s departure and Thomas Tuchel’s arrival has seen every member of the first-team squad given a clean slate and, as a result, no major incomings or outgoings are anticipated before tonight’s deadline.

Abramovich promise to sign €180m world-class superstar for Tuchel if he gets Chelsea into top four

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly trying to motivate his new manager Thomas Tuchel to get the club into the top four this season.

According to Todo Fichajes, The Russian has supposedly tried this by informing Tuchel that he can only seal the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland if the Blues qualify for the Champions League.

Chelsea spent big on some marquee signings last summer, bringing in the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell.

However, it still looks like this team is a work-in-progress and another big-name addition like Haaland could be needed to improve their attacking performances.

Werner and Havertz have been pretty disappointing so far, so there’s surely room for Haaland in this side after his world class performances with Dortmund.

The Norway international is one of the most lethal finishers in the game at the moment, having scored 37 goals in just 38 games for Dortmund.
