Marina ‘Confirms’ next Chelsea signing after Edouard Mendy deal is completed

Chelsea are close to signing Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, with reports claiming the 28 year old Senegalese international has completed his Chelsea medical.

Mendy will be Chelsea’s 7th major signing this summer following the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz.

According to Football London, Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia has made a decision on Chelsea’s next transfer with the Blues set to complete the signing of Mendy from Rennes.

Granovskaia is reportedly set to make a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice this summer after the Blues complete the signing of Mendy from Rennes.

Rice has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last few months, and according to reports, Chelsea will focus on a bid for the former Blues youth player once the Mendy deal is over the line.

Meanwhile, Chelsea beat Brighton 3-1 on their first Premier league match, with goals from Jorginho, Reece James and Zouma.
