Marina Granovskaia to complete massive £70m deal after receiving transfer boost

Chelsea’s hopes of landing Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz this summer have been significantly increased following the conclusion of the Bundesliga campaign.

Bayer Leverkusen rounded off their work for the 2019/20 Bundesliga season with a 1-0 home win over Mainz on Saturday.

but it was not enough for them to secure Champions League football for next season, meaning it could go a long way in deciding Havertz’s decision about his future this summer.

Not only that, though, but Leverkusen’s failure to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition means that they may be willing to offload him in the summer for £70million, opposed to the £90million that they value him at.

This could be seen as a significant breakthrough in Chelsea’s hopes of landing the attacking-midfielder, as the Blues are eager to spend big-money on other areas of the squad, meaning landing Havertz for a cheaper fee could boost the Blues’ hopes of sealing a deal for the 21-year-old.
