Since moving to Chelsea from Leicester City two years ago, N’Golo Kante has played a conservative role in Chelsea’s midfield, breaking opposition attacks just in front of the defence.
Under Maurizio Sarri this season, Kante has been deployed on the right of Chelsea’s midfield with the license to join the attack.
His goal against Huddersfield Town came as a result of a far post run to meet a Willian cross.
Speaking about his new role under Sarri this season, Kante said: “It’s a new manager and a new system. I played a little bit further forward.
“I need to adapt to this role but I will give my best in this position for the team and I hope we can keep doing good things in the future.
“I try to find the striker, to be more offensive and cause problems for the opponent and I think it went well.”
