Real Madrid started negotiations with €45m-rated Chelsea playmaker after Lampard sacking

According to latest reports, Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a surprise transfer deal for the London giants star Mason Mount after the sacking of Frank Lampard. Florentino Perez is a big fan of England international, who has long looked one of the most talented teenagers on the books at Chelsea.

Mason could surely do a job for one of Europe’s elite teams, even if he stays inexperienced at this moment in time. Mount felt most negatively about the sacking of Frank Lampard this week, and the report suggests that could give the Los Blancos a chance to snap him up.

The Spanish outlet also mention Real’s interest in Blues star N’Golo Kante, but one imagines Chelsea won’t want to be selling so many crucial first-team footballers. Eden Hazard’s departure from Chelsea to Real Madrid was a big blow to the Blues and they surely need to keep this squad together under new coach Thomas Tuchel.

Frank struggled to get the best out of this group of footballers, but the last thing the new coach needs is too many changes and the negative headlines that would come with losing a popular homegrown talent like Mount. Mason has arguably been the player of the campaign so far at Chelsea and was so often the go-to man under Frank Lampard.

He’s a playmaker that has chipped in with three goals and six assists so far this season in all tournaments. Thomas has given a positive verdict on England international Mount and has suggested his work-rate has impressed him when looking back at any Blues games.
