Chelsea fans around the globe can’t keep there happiness for Chelsea announcing the signing of Timo Werner today.
The Blues beat Liverpool and Man United in the race to trigger Werner’s £53m release clause earlier in June and the 24-year-old has now agreed personal terms with Frank Lampard’s side.
And the Germany international has already sent a heartwarming welcome message to the Chelsea fans upon completing his £47.5m transfer to the English capital, expressing his delight over officially becoming a part of the Blues family.
“I’m incredibly happy to be joining the Blues next season! It feels like the right step for me and I am delighted to become a part of Chelsea FC,” tweeted Werner.
“Really looking forward to playing for such a fantastic and historic club! See you soon Chelsea fans!”
Werner, who has scored 32 goals in all competitions so far and is currently enjoying the most productive season of his career, will see out the remainder of the campaign with Leipzig before completing his move to Chelsea in July, subject to passing a medical examination.
