(VIDEO): What really happened between Mourinho and Lampard on touchline

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard were involved in an exchange of words on the touchline during the first-half of the Carabao Cup fourth round tie between Chelsea and Tottenham.

The pair have an awesome relationship starting from their days at Chelsea, but there was no friendship at the Tottenham Stadium, as they both fought for a place in the last eight.

It didn’t take long for Chelsea to go ahead through a fine Timo Werner finish in the first half, and with both managers urging their side on, Mourinho soon became agitated on the touchline.

However, the Tottenham boss soon turned his attention to Lampard in the opposite dugout, who was beginning to irritate him.

At some point in the first half, Erik Lamela was penalised for putting a hand in Kurt Zouma’s face, and Mourinho got infuriated after the referee’s decision and was caught exchanging words with Lampard.

Mourinho seemed to be telling Lampard that he was talking too much on the sidelines, and Lampard hit back at his former boss.

Lampard seemed to see their exchange as funny, and was later caught smiling on camera. But it was Jose Mourinho who got the last laugh as Spurs equalised late in the game and won the match on penalties.
