Werner reveals why he rejected Manchester United and Liverpool to sign for Chelsea, and I don’t regret it

According to Werner, he rejected the advances of Inter Milan, Manchester United and Liverpool in order to join Frank Lampard’s side.

Werner will reportedly be the second highest earner at Chelsea, with only N’Golo Kante earning more than him, but he has admitted that he wasn’t motivated by money and has no regrets about joining Chelsea.

“Inter, Manchester United and Liverpool wanted me? Yes, I could have gone to these teams too. The best clubs fought for me,” he explained in an interview with German news outlet SportBuzzer.de.

He added: “The entire Chelsea package in the end, however, turned out to be the best in my career. Money played a marginal role.

“For me, money was never a decisive factor, otherwise I could have gone to China. Chelsea is a leading club in European football. There is a team of great quality, we want to get to the top. I don’t regret my decision for even a second.”
