£180 million worth of talent! Three Chelsea signings that will solve Frank Lampard problems in January window

Frank Lampard is under intense pressure at the Chelsea and there s a feeling that he will need to spend some more money in the January transfer window to solve his problems.

The Englishman had a great first few months as Chelsea boss and lead the club back into the Champions League places and into an FA Cup final, while also managing to spend some serious money on some top-class players.

However, his start to the new season is not what many people have expected and this Chelsea side should be right behind the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool in the chase for that title, and they are not.

But the January transfer window is now open and it will give Lampard the chance to delve into that transfer kitty and sign a few players that will come in and get the club back on track.

The first signing we should make is Dayot Upamecano.

The Frenchman is regarded as one of the best young defenders in the game and is already proven at Champions League level. His power, quality on the ball and that turn of pace he has is something that Chelsea are lacking at the back.

The Blues need a long-term replacement for Thiago Silva, and putting Upamecano next to Kurt Zouma when the Brazilian is not playing, will stop teams scoring easy goals against the club.

Next on the list should be PHILIPPE COUTINHO.

Coutinho has been given a chance to prove himself at Barcelona under Ronaldo Koeman, and has been putting in some very impressive performances, but with the Spaniards reportedly ready to freshen up the side, they are reportedly keen to offload the Brazilian.

A creative force, a world class midfielder and an option to buy on loan for the next few seasons, Coutinho would add that superstar factor to the squad and bring that creativity that the club are lacking.

An option for Lampard if the board back him.

And the third player the club should sign…WILFRED ZAHA

It is easy to see why the club are not scoring goals, they do not have a player like zaha in the squad that has the ability to take players on, drive to that by-line and put a quality cross into the box.

He has proven this season that he is ready to make that step up to a big club and considering Chelsea need a player like him, he is one that the board should try and sign, as we said, this Chelsea squad are lacking a player like him in the side.
