“20 goals in 20 games this season” – Chelsea told to pay £60million to sign top striker
According to Football Insider, Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez will cost in excess of £60 million after his impressive performances for the Dutch club Feyenoord.
The 22 year old striker played a key role as Feyenoord won the Dutch title last season and has been in spectacular form this season as well. The 22-year-old striker has 20 goals to his name in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
Chelsea face competition from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of the Feyenoord striker who is regarded as one of the most promising young attacking talents in Europe right now.
Chelsea are keen on signing a striker in January as Nicolas Jackson hasn’t been reliable in front of goal for the Blues since his transfer from Villarreal.
The report also adds that Feyenoord are not keen on selling the player midway through the season, therefore any transfer might have to wait until the summer transfer window.
