22-year-old winger could return to Chelsea against Sheffield United
Frank Lampard has confirmed that forward Christian Pulisic’s hamstring injury is not serious and has even hinted that the American could return for this coming weekend’s PL clash with Sheffield United.
He skidded over during last weekend’s pre-match warm-up before taking on Sean Dyche’s Burnley, tweaking his hamstring in the process, and was pulled from the starting XI and replaced by Timo Werner.
Christian has missed much of the start of the campaign with a hamstring injury sustained in the FA Cup final.
But Frank has quelled fears over his latest setback and, while he won’t take on Rennes on Wednesday, Pulisic is already back training.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference before the UCL clash at Stamford Bridge, Frank said:
‘Christian had a scan yesterday which showed a very, very minor injury to his hamstring, very minor.
‘So he’s already back outside [training]. He won’t be fit for tomorrow but we’ll see after that.’
