£230-a-week world class player to Chelsea?, Tuchel fires warning to rivals, As Tuchel delivers Werner message..in Chelsea247 roundup news

Stunning reports have claimed that Chelsea are interested in Manchester City star Sergio Aguero.

Despite being unbeaten as boss of the club, it is no secret that Thomas Tuchel will be seeking to improve the squad and possibly bring in another striker to bolster the attack.

It was already known that Sergio Aguero’s expiring Manchester City contract had captivated Spain’s top clubs, but the Daily Mail reports there’s also developing domestic interest in the striker, with THE CLUB hopeful Aguero will want to remain in the UK beyond this campaign.

Aguero and City have still not held any talks about the future, the Daily Mail says, opening the door to a summer departure.

The forward has a long-documented injury history but remains lethal when healthy. As Timo Werner continues his inconsistent first season in the Premier League, we are perhaps in the mood to add someone with a proven track record in the competition to support their German signing.

Thomas Tuchel has laughed off speculation surrounding Timo Werner’s future at Chelsea

Werner was signed by the club during the last summer transfer window after a blistering season over in the Bundesliga in which he netted over 30 goals in all competitions.

We beat off a whole host of clubs to get a transfer deal done, and many were excited to see just what the German could bring to Stamford Bridge, especially as we needed to add a top-class forward to the attack.

However, Werner is enduring a difficult first season at the club following his move from RB Leipzig last summer, as the Germany international has scored just one Premier League goal in 2021 and has not found the net in the Champions League since a group stage match against Rennes in early November.

“Stop reading, stop reading, what do you read? Read a book,” the German coach replied when asked about reports of Werner’s unhappiness.

“There is no book about Timo Werner. So read a book.”

“For Timo, I think he has no reason now to be frustrated because he had an amazing match against Liverpool, maybe his best match since I arrived,” he added.

“Then he had a good match against Everton, with a lot of chances to score, which he normally is clinical enough and strong enough. He did not score. Okay, this sticks in a situation like this. This can affect his self confidence, of course, but what does it help?

“The clear advice from us is don’t focus on the result, focus on the process, get your decision-making right, get your technique right, make good decisions, for the decision take the right technique and the ball will do the rest.

“There is simply no time to reflect on what is going to be in summer or next year. At the moment I don’t see why he should be frustrated. We gave him a little bit of time to breathe against Leeds. It was hard for him to come on, so he was not too much involved in the last 20 minutes because it was not our best game, but right now I don’t see why he should be too frustrated.”

Thomas Tuchel has warned Chelsea can still be more lethal in the final third after they beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

On a night where Tuchel had the best start in the history of the club, the lads put in another impressive performance against the Spanish giants to seal their route into the quarter finals.

We seasled a 3-0 aggregate win back at Stamford Bridge through goals on the night from Hakim Ziyech and Emerson Palmieri, as the lads were in control throughout the contest with Luis Suarez substituted after 58 minutes, unable to find a way through a resilient defence.

But Tuchel has opened up and warned the clubs rivals that we can get better, and has told the players where they need to improve,

‘We need to improve in counter attacks, the first contact after we win the ball when we implement more forward thinking to exploit space,’ Tuchel told a post-match press conference.

Tuchel continued: ‘From here we go on, we take it step by step, we encourage them as we have seen many good things since the first training [session] and the first game.

‘We have had so many good habits. It is my job to play my part, no more, no less.’

It was another great performance from the lads to beat a side that are very dangerous, and one of the best in the game right now.

So the fact that we brushed them aside with relative ease pretty much suggests that we could go all the way and add another Champions League crown to the cabinet.

There are still some big teams left in the competition, but we should start getting excited people, we have a very good chance, and teams will be worried after seeing this game
