It’s been an exciting summer for Chelsea fans with the club spending over £200million on new players.
Frank Lampard has brought in the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, Malang Sarr, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy as the Blues aim to close the gap on Manchester City and champions Liverpool.
But with so many arrivals, the West London club may now have to allow some others to leave before the window shuts on October 5th.
Here we highlight three players who could be heading through the Stamford Bridge exit door in the next couple of weeks.
Emerson: Reports in The Sun claim that Juventus are targeting a move for left-back Emerson Palmieri. Despite playing in the Carabao Cup victory against Barnsley, the Italy international finds himself behind both Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in the left-back pecking order. It’s thought that the Serie A champions want to take advantage of that by swooping for the 26-year-old on a loan deal with an option to buy.
Ross Barkley: According to The Telegraph, Ross Barkley is a transfer target for Aston Villa. The 26-year-old has appeared in all of the Blues’ three games so far, scoring in the 6-0 win over Barnsley. However, with a lot of competition in the squad, it looks as though it could be difficult for the 26-year-old to pin down a place in the starting XI. This has reportedly caught the attention of Villa boss Dean Smith, who’s said to be attempting to sign the playmaker on loan. If the Villans can’t land Barkley then it’s thought they could move for Blues teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Antonio Rudiger: Germany international Antoni Rudiger was a key player for Chelsea last term. However, after failing to feature in the opening three matches, the Mail Online report that West Ham United are keen on signing on the 27-year-old. The Hammers are aiming to add a centre-back to their squad and it’s claimed that they could make a loan offer to the Blues for Rudiger.
