Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth round opponent ‘confirmed’ after defeating Chesterfield 5-1

The Blues progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating Chesterfield 5-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, which came courtesy of goals from Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Romelu Lukaku, Andreas Christensen and Hakim Ziyech.

However, Chelsea will face League One side Plymouth Argyle at home in the fourth round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup.

The last time Chelsea played against Plymouth was in 1989 and they currently occupy the final play-off place in League One.

Chelsea are looking to win our first FA Cup trophy since the 2017/18 campaign, where an Eden Hazard penalty ensured we beat Manchester United 1-0 at Wembley.

The FA Cup fourth round ties are set to take place across the weekend of February 4 and February 7. Due to our involvement in the Club World Cup, a date for our fixture will be confirmed in due course.
