According to Sky Sports, former Chelsea star Pedro has signed for Italian giants AS Roma.

The Spanish winger has penned a three-year deal at the Stadio Olimpico. It brings an end to what has been five glorious years for Pedro at Stamford Bridge.

During this time, he made 206 appearances, scoring 43 goals and 28 assists. A versatile player, he played in a variety of positions for the Blues.

The 33-year-old’s contract came to an end this summer. He joined Brazilian star Willian as the two first-team wingers to depart the club in the same window.

It was a difficult season for Pedro who endured a host of injury problems last season. He made just 23 appearances all season, culminating in a 41-minute cameo in the FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley.

Unfortunately, the night ended in a loss, robbing Pedro of a memorable goodbye. Pedro will now embark on a fresh start in his career. He revealed his happiness at joining Roma and hopes to do his best for the Italians.

“I am excited about this new challenge and to compete for our goals in the coming seasons.”

He leaves behind a legacy as a hardworking player who could be counted on. Pedro came in for praise from Chelsea boss Frank Lampard after the final Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Blues boss praised the player’s impact at the club and wished him luck for his future endeavours. His journey at Chelsea may be over but his footballing career still has some way to go.
