£45M man to replace Alonso at Chelsea after three-year contract agreed

According to reports, Chelsea will make a move to sign Marc Cucurella this summer now that Marcos Alonso has agreed to join Barcelona

Alonso has been a big part of the Chelsea starting eleven over the past few months – and has done a relatively impressive job at left-back.

However – he could not agree a new contract with Chelsea and that allowed Barcelona to swoop in – make contact – and try to convince him to leave London over the transfer window

And that has seemingly worked if you believe all the reports – as The Chelsea defender has agreed a three-year deal with the Catalan giants, according to Diario SPORT.

Alonso’s Chelsea contract expires next summer, but the Blues are hashing out a low price transfer with Barca, the report added.

Now – according to reports in the Sun – Chelsea will now look to open talks and try to secure a transfer deal for the impressive Cucurella

The Spaniard has been very impressive this season for Brighton and has become one of the most solid left-backs in the Premier League – and he is heavily tipped to leave the club in the coming months

It is believed that Chelsea are willing to pay his £45 million asking price – and will be ready to offer him a five-year contract worth around £150,000-a-week

The club reportedly feel the Spaniard could be the perfect Alonso replacement, although they know they will have to battle it out with Man City and Spurs to sign him.
