Chelsea’s defence has been identified as the priority for Frank Lampard as the Blues boss is looking to bring in massive world-class defensive reinforcements ahead of next season. Chelsea have now been reported to be close to agreeing a deal to sign highly rated AC Milan defender Alessio Romangoli.
AC Milan captain and defender Alessio Romangoli has been regarded as one of Italy’s best defenders in recent years and the player has caught the attention of Chelsea scouts with his impressive performances.
Chelsea have already completed the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner and they have now identified Romangoli as the defender to improve their leaky defence.
The signing of Alessio Romangoli will be a massive addition to the Blues as he will bring in the necessary defensive qualities to Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea will have to pay in the region of £65m to sign the defender as he is highly rated by the Serie-A giants.
Chelsea coach Frank Lampard understands that defence wins you titles, and he is also aware that is current defenders are now good enough to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, so the signing of Romangoli is top priority for Chelsea.
Chelsea have also been linked with other top central defenders like Dayot Upamecano, Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli and other top defenders but Chelsea are closer to signing Romangoli as Marina Granovskaia has opened official talks with the players representatives.
Chelsea fans should be excited as Romangoli is a top central defender and he should be a good signing for Chelsea.
