6pm Chelsea transfer news: Italian giant to complete signing of Chelsea forward this week, as £294,000-a-week superstar ‘is open’ to joining Chelsea this summer

Chelsea247 brings you the latest Chelsea transfer news from Stamford Bridge.

The Blues fans might be waving goodbye to an experienced player in Oliver Giroud at the end of this week, with AC Milan eager to sort out his deal as soon as possible.

Oliver Giroud has been linked with a move away from Chelsea ever since the club confirmed the signature of Timo Werner last season.

However, the world cup winner was able to turn things around by putting in an impressive performance whenever he’s called upon.

Giroud played an essential role in Chelsea’s run to the Champions League title, scoring a decisive goal against Atletico Madrid.

Despite this, his time at Chelsea is coming to an end as Corriere Dello Sport report that the Italian side AC Milan want a deal for the Frenchman wrapped up by the end of this week.

According to the report, the Serie A outfit wants the striker to join up in time for their pre-season preparations.

Chelsea recently triggered a contract extension in Giroud’s contract to prevent him from leaving for free, but they are now under pressure to make a decision.

Should he make a move to Milan, Giroud will sign a two-year contract at the San Siro worth £3.4million.

Antoine Griezmann is reportedly open to the idea of joining Chelsea this summer window

Griezmann joined Barca from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019, having established himself as one of the world’s best forwards while winning the World Cup with France.

After firing at least 20 goals in each of the last six seasons, Griezmann scored just 15 times in 48 games in his first season for Barca, a disappointing haul given the €120m (£107m/$134m) fee required to bring him to the club, and he has not faired any better this season.

He has largely been played out of position since joining Barca, and because of that fact, he has not looked like the player that dominated over at Madrid for so many years and became one of the very best players in world football

Recent reports in the media have claimed that Barcelona have already offered Griezmann to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, PSG and Liverpool

The report adds the Catalan outfit need to offload around £171million (€200m) from their wage bill to register all of their new signings and tie Lionel Messi down to a new contract.

Now Sport claims Griezmann is one who could be told to accept a lower wage and while he would be willing to consider such an offer, he is still open to moving to the Premier League this summer
