8 goals, 15 assists– Chelsea to battle Man United for this £55m Bundesliga star

According to German publication Bild The Express), Chelsea have been alerted to the possibility of signing Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman.

The 24-year-old has two years left on his current deal at the Allianz ArenaTalks regarding the pair over a new deal have so far been unable to bear fruit. A dynamic winger, Coman scored eight goals and assisted 15 in just 39 appearances for the German champions this season.

Capable of playing on either wing and also as a second striker if necessary, the Frenchman’s versatility will be an added bonus to Thomas Tuchel’s side.

According to the report, Coman has instructed his agent Pini Zahavi to look for interested teams in the Premier League. Bayern currently value him at around £55m, but that price could rise by an additional 10% if Zahavi chooses to enrich himself as a part of the negotiations.

Thomas Tuchel is aware of the Frenchman’s prowess having been at the receiving end in the 2019/20 Champions League final. Coman scored the winner on the night to put Tuchel’s Paris Saint-Germain side to the sword.

The German boss has vast experience in the Bundesliga and has favoured the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner during his time at the Bridge. Whether Coman too will soon join that list remains to be seen.

Chelsea will however have to face competition from Manchester United for the player’s signature. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to revamp his squad and has identified Coman as one of his targets.

However, the presence of Coman’s international teammates Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and N’Golo Kante might give Tuchel an edge in convincing him to choose London over Manchester.

As European Champions, Chelsea are in a strong position to attract top players this summer. Tuchel will be keen to build from a position of strength.

At 24, Coman’s best years are ahead of him. He has the potential to become a key player for us for years to come.
