£88 million Chelsea deal close, Blues keen to agree deal for Porto midfielder, as Zidane dismisses doubts facing Chelsea

Chelsea have been given a huge chance to sign Raphael Varane during the summer transfer window by Real Madrid.

We are currently looking to win that Champions League, maybe add an another FA Cup to the cabinet and finish the season back in the top four, as Thomas Tuchel has done a wonderful job since his move to the club a few months ago.

However, Tuchel knows that he needs to improve this squad in the transfer window to push on and take that Premier League title off Manchester City next season and a defender is high up on the shopping list, and Varane is a player that he reportedly wants.

The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of 2022 and Madrid do not want to lose one of the clubs most important players for nothing, but they would reportedly be more willing to sell in the transfer window this time around, with AS claiming Varane has been categorised as a ‘sellable asset’

However, he will not come cheap as the report also goes on to say that Madrid will still demand an asking price of £88 million for Varane, who is easily regarded as one of the top five central defenders in world football

Look, if the club are interested in adding another defender to that back-line in the summer, then they would be very wise to spend their money to try and land Varane. He really is that good of a defender a player that would help send a statement to the rest of the Premier League.

Chelsea keen on to agree deal for Porto key midfielder

Portuguese TV channel TVI24 brought the latest updates on Chelsea’s long-running pursuit for Porto midfielder Jesus Corona.

Last week, they had the exclusive information that Thomas Tuchel’s side would be willing to spend €30 million to sign the Mexican player in the summer market.

Now journalist Rui Pedro Braz explained the current situation and said the 28-year-old star could actually leave the Liga NOS giants for less than expected.

He points out that Jesus is protected by a €30m exit clause only until the end of May. From June on, the market price drops to €25m, and it is quite unlikely Porto could convince the west Londoners to pay over the clause by then.

However, it’s also claimed it would not be strange to see them making the sale in May, before the end of the term.

Sevilla are said to be keen on Corona as well, and along with Chelsea, these are the two main sides who could take him out of Portugal in the summer.

Rui Pedro Braz points out Jesus made a big mistake in one of the games versus Chelsea in the Champions League, helping the club score one of the goals in the first leg.

He says he does not know how much it could make the English heavyweights look at the player with ‘other eyes’, although North American’s form for Porto should show he’s better than that.

Real Madrid coach Zidane dismisses doubts facing Chelsea

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane insists they’re in good shape facing Champions League semifinal opponents Chelsea.

Real go into the first-leg on the back of a 0-0 draw with Real Betis.

Zidane said, “If we drop a point we’re no good and everyone else is playing well.

“It’s not like that, we’re in good shape. It’s going to be a difficult game on Tuesday, the most difficult of the season. We’re ready to play these kinds of games. We were missing something today and couldn’t win it.

“The other teams still have to play this round of games.”
