Chelsea have been handed a huge boost in the race for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz.
According to Daily Star via Daily Express, the 21 year old Germany international has told Bayer Leverkusen he wants to join Chelsea and is ready to hand in a transfer request.
Chelsea have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of the 2020/21 campaign and the Blues are also keen on adding Havertz to the squad.
The 21 year old is considered one of the brightest talents in Europe after 17 goals and nine assists in 43 appearances across all competitions this term for Bayer Leverkusen.
Chelsea have been in talks with the player’s agent for weeks and the Blues have reportedly offered Havertz a five year contract.
