9AM: Blues are clear favourites to land £50 million La Liga star, as Premier League star told to sign with Chelsea
The transfer window is on and we would be bringing you some of Chelsea transfer news and rumors..
However, Chelsea new owner Todd Boehly is yet to make any major potential signing, but it was reported Chelsea target Jules Kound could be first Chelsea signing under new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.
Well, according to reports, Chelsea are in pole position to secure the signing of highly-rated Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde this summer.
23-year-old Kounde has emerged as one of the most sought after young defenders in Europe during a successful stint in Seville.
The nine cap France international moved to Sevilla from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux in 2019 and formed an impressive centre-back partnership with Aston Villa bound Diego Carlos and was part of the side that beat Man United in the 2020 Europa League final.
Kounde was close to joining Chelsea last summer and according to Sport Stamford Bridge remains the players preferred destination and Sevilla would be willing to cash in on the defender for a fee in the region of £50 million.
Chelsea look set to revamp their squad with a £200 million spending spree this summer after Todd Boehly’s £4 billion takeover of the club was recently concluded.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to bolster his centre-back options after the free transfer departures of both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Raheem Sterling has been told that a move to Chelsea would not be a bad option for him to make in the transfer window
The transfer window is literally just a few weeks away – and although many are on their holidays right now – there has ben alot of speculation about who Tuchel will bring to the club
It is no secret that he wants to spend big – it is no secret that he should have some serious money to spend and it is no secret that adding some goals to that attack is what he most desperately wants
And that has led to stunning reports in the media that he wants to make move for the very unhappy Man City star Sterling – who is tipped to leave the Champions over the next couple of months
Sterling has scored 131 goals in 339 appearances for Man City, helping Pep Guardiola’s side win four Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and the FA Cup – but he is set to fall further down the pecking order after the arrival of Erling Haaland
Now – amid the speculation – David James has admitted that a move to the club would not be a bad ideal for the player – he was quoted on the SUN: ‘With regards to Chelsea, I mean this is a testament to how well Raheem Sterling has done, linking him to Real Madrid and Chelsea; the two massive European champions in recent years.
‘Manchester City, Chelsea, or Real Madrid wouldn’t do Raheem Sterling any harm for playing in the World Cup.
‘You do question, given how soon the World Cup is, and what can happen with a move – like with Manchester to London, for example – there might not be the external adjustment that could affect form.
‘He’s an experienced player so you would like to think that he would handle that. If there is a move and it is to Chelsea or Real Madrid, it shouldn’t be a problem for Raheem.
‘He’s more than capable of doing the performances on the field. It’s a pat on the back for Raheem.’
