Chelsea completed the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax in February, as the Blues beat competition from across Europe’s top clubs to sign the Moroccan international.
Former Ajax and Chelsea attacker Jesper Gronkjaer is confident that Ziyech will be a success at Stamford Bridge and will walk into the Chelsea team.
“Ziyech was the one who has caught my eye over the past two seasons even though he wasn’t produced by Ajax’s academy,” the 42-year-old told Goal.
“You need players like that. I think all the top clubs will have looked at Ziyech and asked the question if he is good enough for our team. He is a fantastic player but I think for Chelsea he will be in the starting XI straight away.
“Almost all the clubs in the Premier League could afford someone like Ziyech. Newcastle will be right up there competing in the market again. It is a good signing and he will start a lot.”
Ziyech is the first signing of Frank Lampard and is very well rated having scored 48 goals and provided ridiculous 82 assists in 165 games.
Just this season, Ziyech has scored 8 goals and 21 assists in 35 matches, making him the type of player Chelsea need since losing Eden Hazard.
