Chelsea players returned to training on Tuesday as the Premier League gave the green light for phase one training to resume.
The bulk of the Chelsea squad were seen training at Cobham on Tuesday, with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard overseeing the activities.
However, The Telegraph claim that Kante missed Wednesday’s training and was given permission to miss Wednesday’s session by Frank Lampard and Chelsea officials.
The report claims Chelsea granted Kante permission to skip the second day of their phase one return to training due to the midfielder’s fears over the Premier League season restarting amid the coronavirus crisis.
It’s not known when Kante will return to training with the rest of Lampard’s first-team squad but the club are giving him all the time and support he needs. The report claims Hudson Odoi also missed Wednesday’s session through illness and the England international has been put on medication.
The Premier League aims to resume the season next month, and wrap up the remaining 92 league games by July.
