REPORT: Chelsea prepared to sell ‘Key Midfielder’ for just £31m

Chelsea management have told Juventus that they will need to pay €35m (£31m) if they want to sign Jorginho this summer, according to the Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

There have been claims that the Bianconeri were prepared to offer Miralem Pjanic in exchange for the Blues star but the Bosnian is said to have his heart set on a move for Barcelona.

If Chelsea really have set an asking price for Jorginho, it seems to be a rather low figure, considering they signed the 28-year-old from Napoli for £50m just two years ago.

The financial impact of the global health crisis will have an effect on transfer fees but the London club would be taking a significant hit if the new price tag is accurate.

Jorginho’s agent has not outwardly stated that his client wants a move to Juve but he has also not hidden the fact that the midfielder would be open to a switch back to Italy. Whether manager Frank Lampard will sanction the move, we shall have to wait and see.
