Chelsea are being linked with Porto’s Mexico winger Jesus Corona – as a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho.
Sancho’s name has been dominating the headlines for over 12 months now after a breathtaking last few seasons with Borussia Dortmund, in which he has develop into one of the most creative players in the game.
It is no secret that pretty much every top side in the Premier League has been keeping a close eye, with reports Manchester United and Chelsea are leading the chase, and are ready to pay that massive £100 million asking price of the young man.
However, with the coronavirus meaning that big transfer deals may be thin this transfer window, there is some doubt that Chelsea will be ready to pay that massive £100 million asking price that is currently on the head of Sancho.
According to The Sun, Corona, 27, is rated as a much cheaper alternative to Borussia Dortmund’s Sancho – with his performances in the early goings of the season impressing a number of Chelsea scouts. Wide midfielders Willian and Pedro are tipped to exit the Bridge this summer – making Corona an even more attractive proposition, especially as he can also slot in at wing-back.
Look, there is no doubt that many Chelsea fans out there would love to see the arrival of Sancho and a number of other players arrive this summer window, but that might not be able to be the case and Chelsea may have to wait until next summer to complete a transfer deal.
Sancho is the number one target for sure, but if Chelsea are seeking a cheaper alternative to the England International, they need to still sign players that will make an impact on the side, and Corona is not that man. Yes he has been impressive, but not that impressive this season and is not ready to make a move to Chelsea, even though he is experienced at the very top level.
If Chelsea are seeking a cheaper alternative, why not move for Adama Traore or even Kai Havertz, they would both cost less and would make an impact on the side, and the fans.
