Abrahmovich has promised to back Frank Lampard in the upcoming transfer window and seems the hunt is on.

However, Chelsea are reportedly preparing a £75million bid for Kai Havertz as they bid to united the attacking midfielder with Timo Werner.

But they face competition for Havertz, with Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United among the sides to have been linked with the Bayer Leverkusen star.

Leverkusen have acknowledged they face a battle to hold on to Havertz this summer, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also believed to be keen on the 20-year-old.

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea hope the lure of being able to team him up with his Germany teammate Werner will help them land Havertz.

Werner is expected to sign for Frank Lampard’s side this week after Chelsea offered the RB Leipzig star a £200,000-per-week deal. Meanwhile, Willian and Pedro are set to leave Stamford Bridge on free transfers this summer, and Chelsea want young wide players to replace them.
