With football having been suspended since March, games are due to resume in earnest, and UEFA have moved to make plans ahead of next season.
UEFA have confirmed that the 2020/21 Champions League group stages will begin on October 20-21 while the knockout schedule remains unaffected.
Surprisingly, the first qualifying rounds of the new season will be played on August 8 while the 2019/20 final is currently scheduled for August 23.
Meanwhile, UEFA has confirmed Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final for this season will be played as a straight knockout tournament in Lisbon between 12 and 23 August 2020.
Champions League 2020/21 schedule:
Preliminary round: 8 and 11 August, First qualifying round: 18/19 August, Second qualifying round: 25/26 August, Third qualifying round: 15/16 September, Play-offs: 22/23 and 29/30 September
Group stages: 20/21 and 27/28 October, 3/4 and 24/25 November, 1/2 and 8/9 December
Chelsea are currently fourth in the league, and the Blues must work hard to book a place in the Champions League next season.
