Chelsea have officially announces that Mario Pesalic has signed for Italian side Atalanta.
Pasalic moved to Stamford Bridge in 2014 from Hajduk Split after impressing the Blues scouts with some of his performances, but has yet to make a single appearance for Chelsea having spent much of his time at Chelsea out on-loan to the likes of Elche, Monaco, Milan and Spartak Moscow.
The 25-year-old joined Atalanta on an initial season-long loan in 2018 and helped Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to qualify for this season’s Champions League before agreeing to move to Lombardy for a second season last summer having signed a new contract at Chelsea until 2022.
But having been settled with the Italians for the last few seasons, he has been keen to make sure that he does not move back to Chelsea this summer and was keen to try and get the Blues to make the move for permanent.
Chelsea announced: ‘We thank Mario for his service to the club and wish him the best of luck for the next chapter of his career.
He needed this permanent move as he seems to be reaching his potential over in Seria A.
So Chelsea fans will wish him the best of luck and will say thank you for the limited service he put in a Chelsea shirt, this is a move that will suit the lad.
