Chelsea lost on Wednesday night as West Ham inflicted a painful 3-2 defeat on Frank Lampard’s side in the midweek London derby showdown.

Positives were few and far between for the Blues on a night where the backline collapsed like a castle of sand, but another impressive display from Christian Pulisic would certainly have given the Chelsea fans something to cheer about.

However, The United States international has now taken to his Instagram account to express his disappointment after the defeat, acknowledging that the loss at the London Stadium was a painful one to swallow.

The 21-year-old, though, has spurred his teammates on, urging them to pick themselves up and turn the tide when Chelsea play host to Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.

Pulisic was one of the standout performers in the West Ham defeat. The 21-year-old won the penalty with his nimble footwork that eventually led to Willian’s opener while he also played a part in the build-up to the Brazilian’s equaliser from a free-kick midway through the second half.

The post bears a caption that reads: “Tough one to swallow. Time to turn it around Saturday.”
