Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on solving Chelsea’s defensive problems and has identified the ‘new John Terry’.
However, Chelsea have struggled defensively this season, conceding 44 goals in just 33 Premier League games. Only Burnley have conceded more among the top 10 teams in the Premier League.
According to The Times, Lampard is keen on signing West Ham star Declan Rice as he believes he has the attributes of a high-class centre-back.
Lampard believes Rice can become as successful as Chelsea great Terry in defence, even though he plays in midfield for West Ham.
Lampard believes Rice can emulate his former team-mate Terry in defence as he looks to put together a squad capable of challenging Liverpool for the Premier League title next season.
