Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has told the likes of Chelsea Thiago could thrive in the Premier League

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been a very smart man so far during his time at Chelsea, and has started already planning for the future of the club with a number of top-class signings that will ultimately improve this Chelsea side.

But there has been reports that he is still looking to add a bit quality, creativity and world class ability to his already impressive midfield and has been keeping a close eye on the developments involving Thiago.

Recent reports on the BILD website claimed that Thiago has snubbed the latest contract offer from Bayern Munich, as The 29-year-old reportedly feels this will be the last chance for him to play in his prime for a top Premier League club.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the midfielder and are watching very closely to his developments over at Bayern, but they, and every other club linked with a move for Thiago, have been told that he will thrive in the Premier League.

Asked whether Thiago would suit Premier League football, Guardiola, who managed him at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, said on Sky Sports: “No doubt about this.

“A player who plays in Barcelona and Bayern Munich can play in the Premier League. Yeah, of course he can play. He’s an exceptional player. “But I don’t know what he’s going to do.”

Chelsea are keeping a close eye, they may not be favourites, but they will make a move if the Spaniard does actually decide that a move to the Premier League may in fact be the best move for him to make
