Hakim Ziyech set to get his dream shirt number at Chelsea following latest development

According to France Football, Chelsea winger Willian set to part ways with Lampard as the Brazilian set to complete his move to Arsenal in coming days.

In addition, the report states that Willian has an offer of a three-year contract on the table from Arsenal with the option to extend by a further year, thus he is expected to join the north London outfit.

Speaking about Willian’s future, Blues head coach Frank Lampard admitted he was hopeful that the 31-year-old would extend his stay

“No, because it is his decision,” Lampard said. “I haven’t got that answer. I know the situation at the club’s end. I have a great relationship with Willian, but I don’t actually know what the decision is. “Of course, I am very happy with Willian. He has been brilliant for me this season with his input and work ethic, within the squad.

“But it is his choice and I respect his choice. “He has been a great servant for Chelsea if he decides to move on, and if he does decide to move on then Chelsea will move on and we have to look forwards ourselves.”

The latest development is that the no.10 shirt – that would be vacant if Willian leaves – is taken by another player of the first-team squad.

But Hakim Ziyech seems destined to take it after completing his £33.4m transfer from Ajax last month.

The Morocco international is training with the Blues’ first-team squad, although he’s yet to be allocated a squad number which could be a result of waiting for a decision on Willian’s future. It seems Ziyech is set to follow in the footsteps of Eden Hazard and Juan Mata.
