‘Will never be a top player’ ‘Needs to go’ Fans blast Chelsea midfielder after ‘Very, very Poor’ Display against Bayern

Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley put in a very disappointing performance against Bayern Munich in the 4-1 defeat at the Allianz Arena last night.

Although there were many other culprits on the night, including the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Emerson and Andreas Christensen, fans on Twitter were particularly scathing about the former Everton player

Barkley was extremely wasteful in possession throughout the 90 minutes and the 26-year-old’s inconsistency is likely to be infuriating for both his manager Frank Lampard and his teammates. Having a mixture of good and bad displays can be forgiven when you are young but Barkley has made over 200 appearances since making his senior debut all the way back in 2011.

Lampard will likely have to make a big decision on Barkley’s future in the coming weeks, especially if Kai Havertz does arrive from Bayer Leverkusen. The likelihood is that the midfielder will be offloaded if the Blues receive a satisfactory offer for the England international.
