Chelsea’s move for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is in the final stages, and reports have now confirmed that a deal has finally been accepted by the German club.
According to German media outlet Sport Bild, Chelsea will pay €80million (£72m) up front plus a further €20m (£18m) in bonuses, making the total value of the deal £90m.
Chelsea’s previous most expensive signing was Kepa Arrizabalaga, as the Blues triggered his release clause of £71.6m to bring him from Athletic Bilbao two years ago.
Sky Sports have also confirmed the deal as the clubs have finally agreed terms.
Chelsea already have Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner deals confirmed, and the Blues are keen to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.
