Latest reports now claim the Brazilian won’t be made Chelsea captain when he completes his free transfer to Chelsea.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has made the decision not ti make Silva Chelsea captain due to the Brazilian’s limited English. It is believed Silva will struggle to communicate with the rest of the squad.
Cesar Azpilicueta currently holds the armband and has been the club skipper since 2018.
Silva will become Chelsea’s fifth major summer signing after the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Malang Sarr and Ben Chilwell.
