Callum Hudson-Odoi might not have gotten a goal or an assist in the 6-0 thrashing of Barnsley, but he did enough to convince Blues boss Frank Lampard.
The 19-year-old’s future at Chelsea has been under threat, with speculations claiming that Bayern Munich are interested in him yet again.
For Lampard, he was pleased with the work ethic of Hudson-Odoi and admitted he’d love to see more of the same.
“I think he did well,” said Lampard. “Not easy with not so many minutes, he is the same as some others in the same boat at the moment.
“I thought at parts he looked fresh and sharp. We talk about work ethic, which he showed really well in terms of getting the ball back for us, recovery runs, all the things which must be absolutely standard in his game.
“If you look at the top wingers in the Premier League and how they play. He showed loads of great moments. I was really pleased with Callum, I thought he had a good night.”
Lampard had admitted before the game that Hudson-Odoi may have to go away on loan to get quality game time and improve his performance.
