According to several reports, Manchester united are keen to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante before the transfer window ends.
However, following the reports, Frank Lampard insisted N’Golo Kante is part of his plans despite reported interest from Manchester United.
The Blues landed Edouard Mendy last week to take their summer spending to around £250million and The goalkeeper joins Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz in arriving at Stamford Bridge this summer
But the £200 million that Chelsea have spent this season has to be recouped with player exits, and that means that Frank Lampard is willing to let a number of players leave the club that are considered to be first-team stars.
Kante is easily regarded as one of the finest midfielders in the game right now and is arguably the best holding midfielder, but there has been some speculation in the media that he could be sold by Chelsea in order to help finance the books.
Manchester United have pretty much shown an interest in trying to get a transfer deal done as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keen to add a bit more physicality to the United midfield and are even ready to pay £60 million to get a transfer deal done.
United have reached out to Kante’s advisors to see if a deal can be made, according to The Mirror, but Despite United’s links, Lampard has expressed his desire for Kante to stay.
He said: “He is an incredible player, I keep saying it and I mean it, he is huge for this club.”
United trying to nail down Kante would have been some great business by the club so they will surely be disappointed to hear that there is no chance of a possible £60 million deal take place this transfer window.
He would have been perfect for the club and a signing that fans would have loved to see arrive.
