Chelsea offer made to bring world class Barcelona star to the Bridge!

Chelsea reportedly made an approach to sign Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Barcelona before deciding to sign Edouard Mendy in the transfer window.

It was no secret in the media that Frank Lampard is not a fan of Kepa and was seeking to bring in an elite stopper that would help solve his biggest issues at the club, and that led to constant reports in the media that Ter Stegen was a wanted man.

And According to Mundo Deportivo, we were in communication with Ter Stegen’s representatives to try and secure his signature during the transfer window, but he ultimately decided to stay at Barcelona and is now looking set to sign a big contract with the club.

And that then led to the club wrapping up a late transfer deal for Mendy, who they have been watching for some time now and who made an impressive debut in the 4-0 win against Crystal Palace just before the International break.

Look, Mendy has alot to prove to show that he was worth the money, but if we managed to secure a transfer deal for Ter Stegen, it would have been a fantastic buy for the club as he is one of the very best stoppers in the game.

Mendy is a very good stopper and could be great for us, but the one area of the pitch that you cant have average players in is between the sticks, and that is why we would gave loved to see Ter Stegen arrive. It is a shame that he didnt.
