Will fans be happy with Granovskaia’s planning to bring £81million rated Premier League star to Chelsea?
Chelsea are still determined to sign Declan Rice either during the January transfer window or at the end of the season, and guru Marina Granovskaia might have a way of funding the move.
There was alot of speculation in the transfer window that Frank Lampard was eager to bring the very impressive Rice to Stamford Bridge, but as the club had already spent over £250 million on new players, a deal could not get reached.
The Hammers are not no fools and know that Rice is rated very highly across Europe, so high in fact that they put a massive £80 million on the head of the England International, which is a very high asking price.
However, they remain interested and have been tipped to move during January or the summer, and according to Football London they could end up with more money than they need if they go ahead with the plan that Granovskaia has
Chelsea currently have a string of unwanted players on the fringes at Stamford Bridge, with the likes of Emerson Palmieri, Marcos Alonso, Danny Drinkwater, Olivier Giroud and Antonio Rudiger all unlikely to play much going forward due to new signings.
Combined, they have a value on Transfermarkt of £63m, meaning they’d be well on their way towards funding a move for Rice, and Add on Abdul Rahman Baba and that total reaches £65.1m. It is alot of money raised from the possible sales of the stars, but it would go along way into getting Rice signed in the coming windows.
Look, if the reports are true and Chelsea will sell a number of players, that are not needed, in order to bring Rice to the squad, it would be a very smart move to make as these players are not getting much game time.
However, we still do not believe that Rice will be worth so much money and they will need to get that asking price down before they try and complete a transfer deal.
Chelsea fans would probably be happy to see a number of players that are not needed leave the club, and would be happy to see Rice arrive, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out
