Chelsea refusing to sign £225,000 a-week Juventus star
Chelsea have no interest in landing Paulo Dybala amid claims a parting of company with Juventus is on the cards. The 26-year-old forward has fallen out of favour under new Bianconeri boss Andrea Pirlo and could be sold next year.
Dybala could have quit Turin last year when both Tottenham and Manchester United chased Paulo’s signature, but he opted to stay put.
But with Bianconeri looking to launch a gigantic bid for Kylian Mbappe next summer, they’re preparing to get some top players off their books.
Mattia De Sciglio, Daniele Rugani, Blaise Matuidi and Douglas Costa have already been moved on, either permanently or on loan.
However, reports last month stated a move to Chelsea was on the cards after the Old Lady’s failure to offer Dybala a fresh deal.
It was even suggested his entourage was contacting potential suitors over a move, with the Stamford Bridge outfit among his top picks.
However, an Italian source Calciomercato claim, that while the Argentina international could well move on, a transfer to Chelsea appears unlikely.
The Italian outlet that president Roman Abramovich is no longer interested in signing any more attack-minded players. Furthermore, it’s stated the Blues chief wants to ‘protect’ Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech and ensure they are given maximum chance to prove themselves.
The Blues spent close to £100m on the duo this summer and Abramovich is said to be a big fan of the pair. In addition, it’s felt the arrival of Paulo could possibly stunt their development at Chelsea.
