Player ratings: Chelsea 0 vs 0 Tottenham as Blues back to third
Chelsea played out a goalless draw with Tottenham, in what was a cagey affair at Stamford Bridge.
Below are the player ratings below
Mendy: Good game from the Senegal international. Saved a good shot from Aurier and controlled his area very well and made the saves needed for a clean sheet. 7/10
Reece James: Solid at the back and put in a couple of good crosses that weren’t converted by Tammy Abraham. 7/10
Zouma: Solid performance as Chelsea’s defence coped with the attacking threat of Son and Harry Kane. Made one error late in the game that almost cost his side with a stray pass. 7/10
Thiago Silva: Calm performance, cool on the ball and was solid at the back. 8/10
Ben Chilwell: Decent performance, but couldn’t find the space on the left flank against a very tight Spurs defensive line. 6/10
Kante: Solid in the middle of the park and cut off many of Spurs attacking play. Worked really hard for his side. 8/10
Kovacic: Worked hard in midfield, and in the second half, he was very good with the ball, with a number of exciting runs. 7/10
Mount: Worked hard as usual, and tested Hugo Lloris with a very nice shot in the second half. Very hard game. 7/10
Ziyech: Didn’t seem to work really well for him today. He tried a lot but the game seemed too cagey. 5/10
Werner: It was a very hard game for the German. Scored with a fine finish in the first half, but it was ruled out for offside. Didn’t have the space to hurt Spurs defence. 5/10
Abraham: Brought his physical game to the fore, but would agree that he could have done better with some aerial balls from Reece James. 6/10
Subs: Pulisic: His first game since being back from injury as he was a 73 minute sub for Werner, but he didn’t seem to impact the game. 5/10
Giroud: A 79 minute sub for Tammy Abraham. Missed a glittering chance late in the game. 5/10
Kai Havertz: 83 minute sub for Ziyech. Had a couple of good touches but nothing more. 5/10
