Chelsea boss Lampard opens up and announces his excitement at £60 million rated winger
Frank Lampard has tipped Callum Hudson-Odoi to add the “end product” that will catapult him into the category of a top Premier League winger.
Hudson-Odoi has been at Chelsea for a while now after breaking onto the scene just a few seasons ago, and he has become one of the most exciting young players in the game right now.
There has been some criticism about his end-product, but that has not stopped all the speculation in the media which have suggested that Bayern Munich are still keen, especially as the young man has not been much of a regular starter at the club again this season.
But despite all the speculation, The Chelsea boss remains convinced Hudson-Odoi will rise to all the challenges ahead of him, now calling on the young talent to boost his goal return.
“The obvious next part is end product,” said Lampard on the Metro “We we want to see Callum, as I think he did against Arsenal, to go one-versus-one, to be confident to go one-versus-one, because he has the ability to do it.
“And to get crosses in like he did for Tammy (Abraham) at Arsenal, and to get goals, to arrive in the box. Because that’s the level of top wingers in the Premier League when you look around at the numbers that the top wingers produce in the Premier League in recent years.
“Callum definitely has the capabilities and that will be the next stage for him.”
If Hudson-Odoi gets the game time that he needs to develop into one of the very best wingers in the Premier League, then the Blues have a very exciting player on their hands.
He will eventually come good, Chelsea need to be patient and they must make sure that they keep him away from Bayern.
