REVEALED: 7 Chelsea players more valuable than Barcelona’s Lionel Messi
CIES Football Observatory released their latest transfer market ranking.
CIES use a formula for their calculations that takes into account the age, form and contract situation of world football’s leading players, as well as team form and the state of the transfer market.
According to the latest CIES transfer market ranking, as many as 7 Chelsea players are more valuable than Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
Messi is valued at €54million which means the Barcelona star has a lesser value than Jorginho (€55million), Ben Chilwell (€58.1million), Christian Pulisic (€69.8million), Reece James (€69.9million), Mason Mount (€109.3 million), Timo Werner (€135.1million) and Kai Havertz (€136millon).
Juventus forward fails to make the top 100 as he is valued at around €47million. Ronaldo’s low valuation is largely on account of the fact Ronaldo is now 35 and so has very little resale value for Juventus.
