Italian top midfielder in line to sign 4 year contract with Chelsea after latest decision

According to latest report, Italian insider Nicolo Schira has report that Chelsea have opened talks with Jorginho over a contract extension.

The last two seasons seemed to see the former Napoli man head towards the exit at the club, in the footsteps of Maurizio Sarri, the man who brought him to the club in 2018.

But Thomas Tuchel seems to like him, and he brought him right back to the centre of the team in his two games in charge. That seems to have inspired the confidence of the board, who now apparently think the Italy international is worth a 4 year extension.

It’s not going to be pleasing news for those fans who have had enough of him, nor to those who want Billy Gilmour to get a pathway to the first team.

Either way, it looks like there will be plenty of opportunities to show his value in the weeks to come. He’s going to get starts, and with some fairly easy games, important chances to impress.
